I’ve just released a new version of Switch Control in the App Store.
Here’s a quick overview over the changes:
Philips Hue support:
A few months back, RWE SmartHome added the ability to control Philips Hue lights via their apps.
With this release of Switch Control HD, you’re now also able to control those lights in the app.
no need to log into RWE’s web interface anymore.
Each light is represented as 2 distinct devices: One controls the color the other the brightness of the light.
Every now and then, your Central Control Unit will send you a message. Usually to inform you that something is wrong, or that there’s an update available.
Until now, you’d have to use the RWE apps to read those messages. Well, not anymore!
Switch Control HD allows you to read the same messages.
Note: Some messages usually contain buttons that trigger actions, e.g. to trigger an update of a device. Those actions aren’t supported, yet.
Smoke alarms now can be triggered and deactivated from within the app.
- Visual changes (cleaning up the clutter)
- Logging: Changed to a more reliable system.
- Bug fixes
Here’s a short video that shows the most important features in action:
If you’ve already bought Switch Control HD, the app should update itself (or you can just go to the App Store and update it manually).
If you haven’t bought it yet, get it now!
